We found Tulasi in Tripadviosr online before travelling and got in touch .He gave us quickly to reply by email and whatapp and answered all are questions.
We have been several trekking in Nepal from different trekking agencies in the past but since we wasn't feeling confident enough so, we contact with freelancer guide Tulasi for his experiences, good mood, friendliness, guidance and it was best decision over.He always take care our security on potentially risky areas. He explains and advises his trekkers about trekking rule and regulations so that there was no worry. His everyday briefing was right informations out safety , views, walking speed, foods, accommodation, altitude, wildlife, birds, plants and about local peoples and them cultures.on the way of Annapurna circuit trek, getting to the foot of the waterfall, behind and under the waterfall was amazing. Even regarding the moonsoon season for Annapurna circuit was great views so, we are very happy with him.If you want to see long Panaromic mountains views of Annapurna, you should go Annapurna full circuit and definitely give Tulasi a try with fun exploring. So, we highly recommend him if you want to discover the secret and Panaromic Himalayan views in Nepal.Namestehttps://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293891-d4722808-r853862890-Professional_Freelancer_Trekking_Guide-Pokhara_Gandaki_Zone_Western_Region.html
It was really a great experience to the dairy of life a must experience Annapurna circuit trekking in Nepal 2022. Firstly, We came across with him through a friend of us and we did our first ever trek ( Poonhill, Annapurna base camp and Mardi himal) with him in Feb, 2019 and must say it has been the best decision of our life to trek with him.
Guide Tulasi is most professional organizer in pokhara, Nepal. Well informed, very helpful and patiently answer all queries of the trekkers. Although there are many trekking operators in Nepal , there are few which are as best and professional as trek guide Tulasi.During our trek, He checking for oxygen level and blood pressure thrice, no other trek organization will take care like he did because we was over 5000m ( Throng La pass-5416m) and all the foods was delicious and was always freshly prepared at everyday because he always give priority foods and clean guest house. We absolutely love how he provide every detailed information from how to prepare for the trek till it is completed in Nayapul.Last but no the least, Tulasi is always ecological conscious and vows to clean the mountains .So, we are also helped him to pickup and carrying rubbish from the trekking trail, which was a satisfying experience on it's own.Tulasi, we would like to thanks for your best services and highly recommended for new trekkers and birds lovers. Surely, we will do more explore and adventure trekking coming future.Anna Holmes from UKhttps://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293891-d4722808-r852958678-Professional_Freelancer_Trekking_Guide-Pokhara_Gandaki_Zone_Western_Region.html
We have done upper mustang trekking with Tulasi. It was our first trek ever and we must say that the whole experience make us wanting to go more on treks. We did some hiking from Charang ( Ghar gomba), Lo manthang ( royal palace, monasteries and caves) and Yara village. Tulasi just know the real meaning of trekking and exploring beauty of nature. He is great organized trek guide for all of the trekking routes in Nepal than any of their competitors and well supporting team of the local peoples to help during our day hike trips.

Had a great experience with Tulsi, he took very good care of us. Not only on trek he helped us in every thing in nepal until we were there. He planned 3 days trek and did bookings for food nd stay at best places for us, and according to our speed and convenience he managed to extended that for 4 days without any complain.
His arrangements were surprisingly very good, food was amazing wherever we stayed, rooms were very good and he made sure we had everything we needed also he has very good contacts in nepal let it be flight bookings or adventure sports or good suggestions about everything in nepal.
Godfather for 8 Days-Haresh Patel from India
Yes, we went for trek for 4 days only and total Nepal trip was for 8 days.
He didn't just limited his guidance to trek only. He was go to person for us for each and every detail of our trip.
Q. Didn't you try google before Nepal trip? Why needed a Guide?
A. Yes, we thought the same at first. We googled our best. Trip seemed perfectly planned in advance.
After lot of discussions, research and budget considerations we agreed to have Tulsi as a companion.
We already had our two expensive days in Kathmandu in absence of proper guidance.
Then we reached pokhara and met Tulsi. He shared some helpful tips to before starting the trek next day and shared whole trek plan.
His planning seemed to the point.
On the first day we thanked god for our decision to have him with us. No matter how much you research, Only experience counts in a Jungle Mountain.
He had made arrangements for Stays with best view ,tasty breakfast, Lunch and dinner at best venues available in that area.
Finding delicious food in that area was a delight.
He made and modified plans according to our trekking speed and conditions precisely without any complaint. He was not pushy like other guides.
Trekking with him was a blessing.
Even after finishing the trek, he helped us doing bookings for adventure sports and flight back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
No, he didn't charge any commission for that.
Overall, he is very fun and helpful person to have on trip. You'll truly thank yourselves.
He has all the contacts needed in whole area.

Best guide and an amazing person tulasi-Darjee from India
In this December i had done pun hill trekking with my friends. I found tulsi on trip advisor. He is a perfect guide to trek with. From the very first day we reached to pokhra he helped and guided us like a friend. As per our trekking package he was going to manage all our stay and food and all the arrangements done by him were above our expectations. Wherever he arranged our stay during our four days of trekking, all those places were at very good location and rooms were also neat and clean and food was awesome. He was only our trekking guide but he helped us during our whole journey of pokhra and return back to kathmandu. We are overwhelmed by the hospitality we have received from this tulsi.

Outstanding-Matt from UK
I arranged a trek to Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp through Tulasi and he was great - quickly answering all of my annoying questions.
He was on another trek during my dates so he arranged for me to go with his brother Bishnu - a fantastic, experienced, patient, kind guide who made sure I had a great experience. Bishnu was terrific company and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable - from arranging my permits, to suggesting the best itinerary and tea houses, to lending me a bit of cash when I lost my wallet, and taking all my daggy photos.
I particularly enjoyed meeting Bishnu’s family on our return to Pokhara.
Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Great Poon Hill experience-Marcela from Brazil
Tulasi is amazing. Much more than a guide, we had a person who turned our little 4-day trail into an unforgettable experience in the Himalayan region. First, he helped us booking our flight tickets to and from Pokhara and the transfers to and from Naya Pul. Imagine someone who increases your trekking with cultural data, chooses the best places to eat and sleep (even guaranteeing certain luxuries such as a hot bath every night) and in the end even presents you with a bottle of the purest and most legitimate Raksi;) Tulsi , you are amazing. Thank you so much for everything and see you next time !! Namaste

An excellent, friendly, reliable guide -Andy from UK
My girlfriend and I have just got back from a 7 day trek to Kopra Ridge (Annapurna) guided by Tulasi.
From the very first email to the drop off at the hotel afterwards he could not have been more helpful.
He quickly organised our trek based on our requirements, booked us transport to the trek start, sorted out permits, hired a great porter, arranged good accommodation throughout, provided us with thoroughly interesting knowledge of the area and always went out of his way to make us feel comfortable.
I would highly recommend you hire him over any agency. With Tulasi you get a service that can be tailored exactly to your needs, flexibility you do not get with an agency. It means that you can choose anything off the menu in the tea houses, make adjustments to your trek as you are trekking if necessary and his wealth of connections means that you have a better chance of getting into the better accommodation.
Tulasi has given us a memorable experience.

Upper Mustang trek-Owyn and family from UK
We’ve just returned from a ten day trek in the upper mustang region. It was absolutely outstanding, even though it’s monsoon season that area is dry due to the rain shadow from the Himalayas. Tulasi was our guide and did a great job. Initially answering all our questions before we had arrived. He then met us on arrival, arranged hotels, permits, and transport. On the actual trek he was also outstanding, he suggested variations and side trips, (the caves and temples north of Loh Mantang) and an alternate route back on the eastern side of the river. He was always encouraging, and helpful, and added enormously to our trip. Thank you Tulasi, I hope we get a chance to meet again soon.

He was very good experienced about the entire trek and made sure we acclimatized well before the Throng la pass while other peoples are behind of us.
He provides us excellent rooms in tea house and ordered our foods early so, we get our foods earlier and haven’t needed to wait long. He was so friendly and managed everything very well for us (Hotel in pokhara and Katmandu, flight tickets, all of trekking equipments, trekking permits, foods, transportation ) before we arrive in Katmandu we started our trek on time because we had very limit time for that trek. We saw lots of Mountains from Throng la pass and Poonhill so, Thanks to the team of our friends and especially to our guide Tulasi Ram paudel for making our trek in Nepal unforgettable memorable and pleasurable experience..
Our porters were also very experienced, helpful and observant. They was also always in the kitchen helping with making our meals, which I never saw other porters doing the same thing.
We will definitely choose him and his team work for trekking again when we come back to Nepal! We highly recommend to him for trekking in Nepal.

We usually travel on our own but the trip to Poon Hill is an exception. I did contacted with several travel agencies and tour guides and Tulasi was our final choice, not because of the excellent reviews from other travellers but also his love for nature and a keen interest in showing others the best that a certain trek could offer.
As we had only 3 days for the Poon Hill Trip, Tulasi customised a trip for us within the time frame yet ensured we experienced the very best. And we indeed had an amazing time.
Tulasi was kind. He was willing to advance his own money to pay for our permits prior to our arrival so the trip could be started in time. He also helped us with renting the walking poles, so they were all ready when we kicked off our journey.
As our time was limited, precise arrangement was our priority. Fortunately, Tulasi arranged everything professionally, from the Jeeps, to accommodation and meals and he did everything a strong sense of customer service and with great care.
Tulasi truly cared. He took us to possibly the best lodges in the itinerary and with a breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountains. He was also wholly attentive to the weather change to informed us and showed us spectacular views whenever the sky was clear.
Tulasi is not calculative. Even though the cost which included meals had been prepaid to him, he always encouraged us to select dishes to our likings and suggested us to try great desserts such as Apple Pies, and yes they were so tasty,
Tulasi is knowledgeable. He knows the roads well and fauna and flora, all the birds we happened to meet, and he knew most of the other guides and local people on our trek too. He was too experienced to tell you which direction to step aside when animals approaching.
Tulasi is never intrusive. He gave you freedom to enjoy the nature and silence but in case you need an interesting companion, then Tulasi is the one. He has a wealth of anecdotes to tell and tell them charmingly. He is funny and can entertain you immensely with his jokes, some of them contained great wisdom. We were also inspired by the destinations he has been to multiple times as a guide, such as Annapura Base Camp, Everest Base Camp and Upper Mustang.
With Tulasi, you are definitely in good hands. He takes care of every logistics things do you don't have to and instead having more time to enjoy the beauty of the nature.
We definitely will go back to Nepal and do the Upper Mustang Trek, and the tour guide for the trip, unarguably will definitely be Tulasi.

Best and excellent trekking guide in pokhara
Thanks Trip advisor forums
With our fanstastic time on Nepal , We(8 Peoples from Germany) did trekking with freelancer trek guide Tulasi Ram Paudel from Pokhara, Nepal. We wrote the mail for TREKKING IN ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT WITH POONHILL more then 10 trekking guide but get the right answer from him only because Tulasi was extremely helpful in answering all our questions before the trekking booked and on the way of trips . So, we directly contact with him. We are so lucky to have such a friendly guide and always ready with a smile with right answer and deeply knowledgeable about Mountains, flora fauna, wildlife, mountains people, them culture-religious, living styles and birding (he is best birding guide as well) . He gave us right suggestion about mountain sickness and we flow his role.
We highly recommend to him for trekking in Nepal.
best guide ever –Tulasi Ram Paudel !!!!!

Elon from Israel 2019,
I have reached tulasi through a search on the internet.
He had made my trek amazing, I didn't need to worry about anything, he took care of all the arrangements, permits hotels communications with many people who didn't know English, and off course leading us on the best path.
He chose always the hotel with the best view.
We prepaid the trip and we could order everything we wanted to eat.
The food was great on out Annapurna Base Camp trek.
He always had our interest in mind, and not the guest house's interest.
His porter Rodra was amazing as well. So professional , on the first sign of rain covered the bags.
Tulsi knew all about the animals and wildlife that we saw.
Very organized and had competitive price.
I recommend him a lot, he even bought us Crampons because he knew we didnt bring, and that it is important for the spectacular last day of Snow walking
Have fun on your trek you who read my review !

Sirini from India-2019,
A friend of mine and I were looking for a guide to trek to Poon Hill + Annapurna Base Camp(ABC) in Nepal and were looking for a professional guide. Thankfully a friend of mine recommended Tulsi Ram Paudel and had Rudra as our porter and they did not disappoint us.
Tulsi took care of us right from day 1 when he met us at Nayapul till the day we said good-bye. My friend and I weren't the fittest trekkers and has some doubts ourselves if we would make it without any issues but Tulsi made sure we felt comfortable throughout the trek, took care of whatever we needed - food, accommodation etc. and kept motivating us. He is a very professional guide and has good knowledge not only about trekking and guiding but also about the flora and fauna all through the path. He kept giving information about the tiny flowers, birds and animals when we came across one. We also had discussion around various topics throughout the trek which made it enjoyable.
Overall, we had a very good time and are thankful to Tulsi and Rudra for making this trip a memorable one for us. We definitely recommend Tulsi to anyone who wishes to hike around Nepal/India.

Alex from Romania-2019,
We are a group of 4 friends from Romania and traveling for the 1st time to Nepal, and Tulasi was recommended to us by other Romanians that have done trekking with him previously. We were a bit nervous about the challenge ahead, we were excited but also feeling a bit unprepared. From the first moment Tulasi came to meet us at the hotel in Pokhara the night before our trekking started, we felt like are already knew each other since forever. We became more relaxed and started to realize this was going to be an awesome adventure. We discussed all the details of the itinerary, and he helped us with renting all the necessary equipment. It’s very important to mention that he took care of everything, permits, accommodation, meals, all was planned and well organized and we never had to wait or worry about anything. Our time booked for the trekking was limited, and Tulasi made it possible for us too see many places within 7 days of trekking: Mardi Himal trek till High Camp + Poon Hill/ Ghorepani. Although we covered a lot of km and altitude differences, and we were normally used to light day hikes in Romania, Tulasi found the way to motivate each of us to overcome our limits and enjoy the beauty that was unfolding in front of our eyes. He brought also the best porter along, and together the 6 of us were really a tight group, and I feel happy and grateful for our time together.
The guest houses and camps were we overnighted were better than expected, Tulasi made his best to meet our requirements, double rooms, private bathroom and hot showers where possible. Food was the beeeest, fresh, tasty, and always on time! Because when you are trekking long distances, hunger is a big deal, trust me! :)
I recommend Tulasi with all my heart, we knows so much about the mountains, the culture, the flora and fauna of the Himalayas. It was a pleasure to have him as a guide, there are so many things you can learn from him and he will share his love and enthusiasm for the birds and the plants if you are interested!

Kinga from Romania-2019,
We came this year for our first trip to Nepal and Tulasi was recommended to us by some friends.
He is very professional, knows a lot of things about every inch of Nepal (history, nature, people) , is funny and also patient. When you think you reached your limit and can't climb anymore , he encourages you in a positive way.
We did our Mardi Himal trek in 6 days, which normally should take 9 days and it was all very well planned by him, with daily trekking, lunches, breakfast and acommodations which were very nice and cozy.
We will definitely come back next year for a different trekking and we hope he will be available to be our guide again

There is not much discussion if you are looking for a professional trekking guide in Pokhara - Nepal, Tulasi is the best!
We did two treks in 7 days with him and I must say that I have felt very safe and without any worries whatsoever regarding the organizing.
He is an excellent organizer, managed to provide us very good acommodation and services everywhere we stopped.
He can easily manage any unforseen situations and changes in the schedule.
Besides that, he is very funny and always makes you feel better when you are down (not down like on the bottom of a precipice, but I'm very sure he can help also in that case :D).
We had a great time with our friend Tulasi, I recommend him without any hesitation.

True professionist, the best you can find in Nepal! I trekked with Tulasi 7 days and I must say he's more like a friend than a guide. Whatever you need, he's there for you. I recommend him 100%!
We used Tulasi as our guide for 5 day Gorepani-poonhill trek. We are very happy with his services. We found him to be knowledgeable, professional and funny. This actually made the whole trek so much fun. As an experienced guide he has done countless treks & we loved hearing about his other trekking adventures. We trekked at our own pace taking rests along the way whenever we wanted, so it was never rushed or felt pressured to keep up with him. He can take great pictures for your memories. Most importantly we felt safe with him by our side especially on day 2 at gorepani it snowed a lot & he got us shelter until it stopped snowing. He is very attentive & punctual. Once he woke us up early morning in Tadapani so we didn't miss the beautiful sunrise. From start to end he made sure we had fun & were safe at the same time. It was a great experience & we thoroughly enjoyed our trek. We are lucky to have known him & are friends till this day. I 100% recommend hiring him as your guide in Nepal.
Nikki,Cate and Ben from UK 2019
Thoroughly enjoyed this family trek - Tulasi is a v experienced & flexible guide. V knowledgeable and speaks good English. Able to change routes and offer options easily. Able to negotiate with tea houses & always find us places to stay with great views, good food and en suite bathrooms TIP hot water is solar powered to grab your shower at the end of the day while there is still hot water...all in all a great experience & we hope to be back. Happy Trekking Nikki, Cate, Ben

Tulasi is a what you could possibly hope for a guide. He is charming, professional, friendly and sincere. He doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind (for your benefit) and treat you not only like a VIP but also like a family. Me and my wife miss him and promise that we’ll be back with our daughters.
Sophia from Belgium 2019
We contacted him to go on a 3 day trip in Nepal. He was really kind. His advice was great (which trekking we should do). Because he wasn’t able to
go on a trek that day , he introduced his friend Bishnu which was such a kind man! We really enjoyed the trekking and will definitely come back!!! Thanks to both of you!
Tiffeny Sachhi from USA 2019
Just returned from the jomsom trek with guide Tulasi. We started from Nayapul , walked to Muktinath and flew back to pokhara. This was an absolutely spectacular trek with a wonderful diversity of landscapes. Tulasi, was a great guide and I appreciate that we went alone at my space-sometimes fast and sometime slow . It was very helpful to have him as my guide to speak nepali and teach nepali languages me some new words as well. The food and lodges alone the way were lovely.Tulasi has a great sense of humor and can make you laugh even after a long hard day of trekking !!!!!! Tulasi is very well respected along the trail by other guides and lodge owners and I was happy to have had this tremendous Himalayan experience with him with jomsom/Muktinath trek.
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY TREKKING ,
Garrett from UK
My friend and I had Tulasi as our guide for a 5 day trek to poon hill. Tulasi was an excellent guide and truly enhanced our experience on the trek. He was very personable and funny, yet professional. All of our permits and transportation were handled before we arrived, just as promised. We were impressed by Tulasi's knowledge. He knew all of the trails, mountains, and people along the trek. We could ask him any questions about the wildlife or culture and receive a deep understanding of the place. Tulasi also genuinely cared for our health and well being on the trek. I had a cold during the beginning and Tulasi kept a sharp eye that I got better. I would highly recommend Tulasi as your guide.Kristen from USA 2018
I was a solo American traveler to Nepal this past November 2018. Tulasi was my guide for a 6 day trek from Jomsom to Muktinath. I highly recommend him for your trekking experience. He speaks English well and is very knowledgeable of the routes and area. He has a wonderful sense of humor! Tulasi was eager to ensure my trip was enjoyable and I was exposed to Nepali life off the beaten path. He was flexible with the schedule and always had good recommendations for alternative plans. And, he knows so many people, whether in Pokhara or in a small village miles/hours away! He was able to negotiate fair prices and had good suggestions for local tea houses. He taught me how to play Nepali Rummy, something you should be sure to ask him about, but know that he is good at playing! Tulasi was part of making my trip to Nepal a life long experience and I would most certainly contact him again on my next visit.
Chris from UK 2018
Tulasi was great! He is very emerging and positive. He made our trip extremely easy, taking care of all admin and he was happy to provide any information we asked for en route.
Kris from US 2018
Recently my restaurant in China decided to bring our entire staff to Nepal for a holiday to show our appreciation so my business partner started doing research to find someone on the Nepal side to help us set up the trip. After much searching he kept coming back to Tulasi and we couldn’t be happier.
All told we were around 30 people and Tulasi set up the perfect trip for us including flights, hotels, food, trekking licenses, loads of sightseeing and shopping and anything else we wanted. He was also very flexible and would change days for us at a whim if something changed on our side. The trip he set up for us was very interesting with several amazing sights around Kathmandu, Pokhara and the Annapurna trek to Poon Hill lookout point to see the sunrise on the Himalayas.
Tulasi was very patient with our large group which could sometimes be a little unpredictable and he was very helpful when we needed it for shopping, food ordering, etiquette in certain situations and just generally making us feel safe and happy. One thing we noticed after our trip to Nepal was that we had been there for 10 days and hadn’t encountered one single shady situation of any kind that we could think of. Everyone was very polite and helpful.
So we started in Kathmandu for 2 days, we arrived the first day and Tulasi met us at the airport with a large bus for our group and got us to our hotel and set up a buffet dinner for us. The next day we saw several sights around Kathmandu including the large Buddhist stupas which were very beautiful, Durbar square and a large Hindu temple that reminded me of what Varanasi, India must be like.
On the following day we flew to Pokhara on flights that Tulasi helped set up and wow was Pokhara nice! What a pretty town next to a beautiful lake and mountains surrounding the whole area. The air is great and the town has a charming relaxed vibe. There are endless amounts of restaurant options here and big sidewalks so walking around felt much less hectic than Kathmandu can feel in some areas that have lots of motorcycles on the road etc. In Pokhara we had the chance to fully relax. While there we had a chance to visit the World Peace Stupa after which we took a boat back across the lake to Pokhara town. We also saw the mountaineering museum and a couple of beautiful temples.
After recharging our batteries we went on a 3 day trek up to the Poon Hill lookout point. The trek is a bit challenging to be sure but we all made it so anybody can do it. The youngest member of our group was 18 years old and the oldest was 54 so we had the whole spectrum. On the morning of the 3rd day we got up at around 4:45am to walk up the the Poon Hill lookout point to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas, breathtaking! There were around 200 people up there that day but it didn’t feel too overly crowded, it felt more bustling and it was super exciting when the crowd started cheering as the sun started to peek out behind the mountains.
After that we trekked back to Pokhara and got back on the same day. The way back had a lot of downhill so it was much faster going, but still a good leg workout.
Our legs being sore from 3 days of trekking we took it easy the last couple days of the trip. We did go rafting with Ultimate Descents rafting on the next day but there wasn’t much walking needed for that. The rafting was super exciting and a little scary at a couple of points but everybody loved it! After the rafting the trip basically ended with relaxing, shopping and meals which was exactly what everybody needed. We got tons of presents for people and got to do some exploring on our own.
We made our way back to Kathmandu and had a great last day and a half there. It was again mostly filled with relaxing, shopping, meals and some last minute photo taking etc. In the end we were pretty sad that our trip was coming to an end as was our time with Tulasi. He became a real friend to us and our whole staff. Everybody had such a great time with him. I can’t imagine having done the trip without him, and I can’t imagine possibly having a better guide for our trip.
Thank you so much Tulasi!!

It is difficult to write this review because Tulasi was so good that it wouldn't be possible to express his values in words alone but I will try. We were a group of 31 visiting from Kunming, China. We took our restaurant staff for an extended adventure vacation and knew we would need a local guide. I found Tulasi online and having no idea who he was rolled the dice and chose him to help us organize and lead our trip. He was very responsive leading up to the trip but it wasn't till we met him that we realized how kind, fun, attentive, organized and knowledgeable he was until we met him. He organized all of our accommodations, trekking tours, site-seeing, meals and transportation and everything was top notch and well-planned. We're so thankful to have met him and to have made a life-long friend in Nepal. Whether you are 1 person or 60 people, I am confident you will not regret having Tulasi guide your trip.
Tulasi is a great guide and a great person! Highly recommended-Kris from USA

Jomson to Muktinath trekking-Kristen from USA
We had a wonderfull experience for Poon Hill Trekking with Tulasi as a guide. We were 4 people, all begginers.
He took care of all things before our arrival.
He arranged our trekking permits, our accomodations (he choose the best ones), our transportantion, everything.
Tulasi is a nice man, you have what to talk with him, he knows good english.
If you want everything to work fine and have everything arranged for a very good price, just let Tulasi take care of all!

Poon Hill Trek: Best Guide-Gare & Max from USA
I would highly recommend Tulasi as your guide.

Best tour organization and implementation -Patrick from Germany
In February 2016, my wife and I were in Nepal for 14 days. I already contacted Tulasi from home so we could put together a tour that was right for us. When we arrived in Kathmandu everything was already well organized. We were personally picked up by him and the next day we started together via Pokhara for a customized trekking tour in the Annapurna region. We were hiking for 9 days. The daily stages were tuned exactly to us. We never had the feeling that you could or should do anything differently. Incidentally, we still had an extra carrier for our main luggage (which does not cost too much, supports a family and makes everything all the more pleasant). Afterwards we have visited various sights in Pokhara and Kathmandu and surroundings. Mr. Tulasi was also the right man to bring us closer to his culture and religion. If I travel to Nepal again, I will certainly contact him again. In addition, this was probably not even half as expensive as if I had booked through a professional agency. Full 5 stars without restriction. Thank you for the great time.
Professional and Friendly Guide -Yong & Lina from Singapore
Tulasi is a what you could possibly hope for a guide. He is charming, professional, friendly and sincere. He doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind (for your benefit) and treat you not only like a VIP but also like a family. Me and my wife miss him and promise that we’ll be back with our daughters.
Tulasi was our guide trekking to Annapurna base camp. It was truly an amazing experience. Tulasi was very accommodating, taught us much local knowledge and was a pleasure to have his company. Nothing was ever a problem for Tulasi and he always carried a big smile with him and beaming positive attitude.
Would definitely recommend Tulasi as a guide, you'll be in very safe hands, and in great company!
Thanks for a trip of a lifetime Tulasi and being so helpful the whole way!

Unforgettable Experience
We had a unforgettable time trekking with Tulasi Ram Paudel.
Tulasi
is the perfect guide, he is kind and honest and always helpful. He is fluent in
English and has a great sense of humour. We noticed a lot of other groups of
trekkers wouldn’t hang out with their guide in the evening, but we were always
up playing cards and having fun together! Tulasi also had to give other guides
he passed directions as they didn’t seem to know quite where they were going!
We felt 100% confident trekking with Tulasi, he always knew exactly what route
to take.
Tulasi
is a well respected and experienced guide, you could see all of the guesthouse
owners were really happy to see him and had a lot to talk about. Tulasi was
also really helpful translating when I wanted to talk to local people, and find
out more about their lives. He has great knowledge of the area and the local
history, not to mention his extensive knowledge of birds and local wildlife.
Our
internal flights in Nepal
were also booked by Tulasi, he made this so easy for us. I consider Tulasi a
great friend now and wouldn’t hesitate to book him again when I return to do
more trekking in Nepal ,
I would recommend him to anyone looking for an independent trekking guide in
Pokhara!

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with a wonderful guide: Tulasi
Ghorepani(Poonhill-3210m)-Ghandruk trekking in Nepal |
Four of us, friends from college days, came to Nepal for a teahouse trek. We booked with Tulasi after reading his reviews online, and he lived up to our expectations and more.
We only had to take care of our own travel insurance, every other aspect of our trek was taken care of very capably by Tulasi.
He arranged for our permits for the trek well in advance, hired porters and booked excellent accommodation.
He was also there to receive us at the airport in spite of our flight being delayed by several hours.
He explained the trek route to us the evening before, kept a flexible itinerary for our comfort, and gave us general guidelines on what to expect.
He took personal interest in the porters welfare, making sure we gave them a manageable load to carry and taking care of their insurance and needs.
During the trek, he made sure that all of us were well looked after and kept up our spirits up with his unfailing good humour.
He also pointed out several birds on the trail, being a bird watcher himself.
I am specially grateful to him, as I had a bad fall on the third day of the trek, and as I was not too fit to begin with, I found it hard going thereafter.
He was there to help and encourage me every step of the way.
Thanks to him and our wonderful and helpful porters Rudra Gurung and Harka Man Gurung, we had a memorable and fun trip.
Thank you Tulasi!
Warm regards,

Tulasi was the perfect guide for this trip. A very pleasant, well-acquainted man of the mountain, gladly answered all our questions, helped us with everything we needed. I highly recommend him!

In November 2017, we made a 12-day walking trip through Mustang, Nepal with Tulasi as a guide. Tulasi speaks English well, knows the area and knows where the most beautiful places and hiking trails are. Also important: Tulasi has humor, makes nice conversations and is very helpful when ordering and serving meals (Tulasi often brings the meals himself!). Furthermore, Tulasi has earned money for us. It was necessary for us twice to take a private jeep and in both cases Tulasi asked all travelers in the neighborhood whether they wanted to join us in our private jeep. At the end, both times our jeep was fully booked, so we saved USD 200 per person. So all in all it is therefore recommended to book Tulasi as a guide!
Here is my recommendation for Tulasi Ram Paudel
2017 Nov,
My husband and I, and another couple used Tulasi to guide us for 9 days to Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp November 2017. I honestly cannot imagine a better guide. He was wonderful. Up before us every morning, making sure we got our breakfast on time, double checking our gear. On the trail he kept us all safe and happy. He worked hard always to negotiate the best possible rooms for the night ahead. Having guided here for 17 years he personally knew all the tea house owners and was clearly respected and welcomed by them. I appreciated his style of guiding, always happy to engage in conversation, point out birds, plants, points of interest, but never intruded when we wanted quiet time. He is honest, caring, patient, and thoughtful. We observed a number of guides that seemed inexperienced, some that appeared pushy and disrespectful. One that I think was drunk half the time. We were so happy we found Tulasi on this website! He works on his own, not for an agency like most guides, so you are not paying extra for a middleman. His fees were extremely fair.
Tulasi lives in Pokhara, but I know he often leads treks to other areas, Everest and Mustang. You might consider asking him which trek is best for you based on the time of year and your needs and expectations. Please check with him- tripnepal46@gmail.com

Tulasi was a wonderful guide! He has a seemingly endless knowledge of the mountains and the flora and fauna around.
He was also very good fun to travel with.
We ate and stayed in such nice places and everything was very well organised.
I was unsure whether to take a guide but am so glad we did. I couldn’t recommend him any more highly!

Upper mustang trek- 26 June - 8 July 2016.
Me and my wife went trekking in the Upper Mustang region
this June. Before traveling to Nepal
we contacted Tulasi Ram Paudel (http://trekguidenepal.weebly.com and www.trekwithguide.blogspot.com) by email,
and we always got quick responses and detailed information about the trekking.
Tulasi is independent guide with license for Upper Mustang, he knows pretty
well this region.
After our arrival in Pokhara, Tulasi picked us up in the airport, arranged all the permits and because of cancelled flight to Jomsom he arranged for us replacement transport by car. The stay in Upper Mustang was amazing, we have a nice weather and we really enjoyed a great time up there. He always suggested us to take the best path, so we could see fascinating sceneries, the most interesting spots, enchanting villages, local culture and really open and friendly local people.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience that we strongly recommend. If we go trekking inNepal
again we will definitely contact Tulasi, because of his experience and
approach.

Langtang & Gosaikunda Treks - April 2015
Before we arrived in Nepal, Tulasi arranged our permits and booked our places on the local bus for which we made a transfer payment via Western Union.
On our arrival in Kathmandu Tulasi was waiting for us at our hotel with his big friendly smile. We were nervous about spending 2 weeks with someone who we had never met before but immediately felt at ease with him as he came across so friendly and trustworthy. He ran through the details of the arrangements for the bus the following day & took our payment for the trek as he needed to convert this into NRP. He also kindly exchanged our spending money for us as he was able to get us a better rate than the money lenders on the street.
The following morning he arrived nice and early with the porter, Dorje, and took us by taxi to the bus station. After a bumpy 9 hours on the zigzags mountain roads we arrived at the hotel in Syabrubesi ready to start our trek in the morning.
On the trek Tulasi always allowed us to set the pace, we regularly stopped to take photographs and never felt hurried. He seemed to sense when we were tired or struggling and knew how to make us laugh and keep our spirits up. He has an amazing eye for wildlife, often pointing out animals and birds that we would never have spotted by ourselves.
Our itinerary was kept flexible to allow for changes in the weather and our fitness levels. He was always in touch with the weather and the conditions of the trails and we felt completely safe knowing that he was so knowledgeable and well prepared.
All of our lodges were booked a day in advanced and so we were always guaranteed a room to ourselves. We were able to decide the start time each day and we always went for an early start of around 7.30am. This meant that we had completed the majority of the day’s trek before the sun got too hot and then had time to sit around and enjoy the afternoon. We also arrived at the lodges before the other guests and so were first in the shower.
Tulasi took our evening meal and breakfast orders and always made sure that the food was properly prepared and arrived on time. Even though meals were included in the price, he always made sure that we ate and drank plenty, sometimes too much!
At the end of the trek he telephoned our hotel and helped to make the arrangements for the remainder of our stay. He even arranged the mountain flight and picked up the tickets for us.
Tulasi is a very sociable person, very easy to get along with and has a great sense of humour. He gets on very well with all the lodge owners and appears to be very well liked by everyone. We can recommend him enough. We went to Nepal for the stunning scenery and have come away with lots of good memories and our new friend, Tulasi.

Trekking in Upper Mustang - trek guide Tulasi |
Tulasi is a friendly and warm man who always has a smile and a great attitude. He is very knowledge about the area and if he did not know the answer to my many questions, it would not be long before he did. He is known and respected by other Guides/Porters as well as the many Tea & Guest Houses we visited or stayed during our ten day trek. I am grateful of the rapport that Tulasi has with the Guest Houses as we were able to have tea and chat with the owners/families which provided for a nice intimidate look into Nepali hospitality.
He has great communication skills and speaks freely about the his country, culture and anything that you would like to know or discuss. After our dinner we would go over the itinerary for the next day; look over the map, point out the high pass(es), grade of the trek and show the communities where we could stop for tea/lunch and finally how long it would take us to reach Guest House. The days were always comfortable with a good walking pace and rest stops, and some wonderful conversations. There were times that we just walked, each in our own inward journey, taking time for reflection and enjoying the quiet silence around us.
Tulasi is very attentive to the needs of his clients and made my trek a very comfortable and enjoyable one. I have walked away with a friend and many great memories of my time in Upper Mustang. He offers a wide variety of treks that can be customized to your needs; trekking remote areas, camping and the well trotted trail of Annapurna circuit and many more.

Trekking Guide Tulasi Ram Paudelrecommended by Janine Buttig from Germany We`ve had a wonderful holiday time for a month to do travels in Nepal.
We made the plan to do trekking with the recommended guide Tulasi.
He took us for a twenty five days trek up to Tilicho Lake and Throng-La pass (round Annapurna).
The trek to Annapurna round and Tilicho Lake trek were fantastic with our guide Tulasi. He was fully insured, trained, excellent, trustworthy, helpful. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding the geography, different cultures, traditions, wild life and about the Himalayan region.
He is physically fit, experienced and responsible to the client in respect to safety, health care, team spirit, the conservation of the landscape, understands rules and regulations in respect to effective management and environmental safe guards. He is professional in figuring a trek to suit our interests . We had our Conrad Stein book and lonely planet book – but no need to use it once, because he knows all the places with good food and the lodges on the way were lovely.
He has a great sense of humour and can make you laugh even after a hard day of trekking!!!
He is very well respected and gets along very good with the other guides, porters and lodge owners. We were very happy to make this Himalayan experience with him and he became more a real good friend than being “only” a guide. We already miss him!
He can do many kinds of organized treks as tea house trek, guide, porter services, camping trek. Especially in the Annapurna region such as Tilicho Lake trek, Nar-phu trek, Mardi Himal trek, Throng -La pass, Annapurna Base Camp and Dolpo trek, etc.
Book him! You won’t regret your decision!

Trek guide Tulasi with Pro.Gentil de Faria in Throng la pass |
Reading the page on recommended trekking guides – www.nepal-die.de – I chose five names and wrote to each of them. I got three answers and one of them was from Tulasi. Immediately I decided to take him as my guide. From the very beginning I found him to be very friendly and helpful. He helped me to organize my trip to Nepal, especially to Annapurna Circuit. He took care of everything, park permits, and all kind of information I need, such as what to take along, what to buy, to rent, etc.
He wrote to me frequently before my embarking on that wonderful journey with him. He proved to be so confident that I did not hesitate to fix an appointment with him right in Besisahar, very far from São Paulo, Brazil.
After a quite exotic trip by bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar, I was delighted to see his smiling face asking me if I were from Brazil. The date was November 5, 2008. From that moment we stayed 18 days together. I took advantage of his companionship and made an extension of my stay to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. We said good-bye for the last time on my way to Chitwan National Park, recommended by him.
I was amazed by his deep knowledge of the whole Annapurna circuit. He knows the region, all the lodges, lodges owners, and has an excellent relationship with other porter guides. Seeing them talking together I realized that he was a leader and respected by his friends.
We had marvelous pleasant moments, and I took advantage of his solid cultural background, which includes historical, geographical, cultural facets. I profited from his ability to teach me Nepali, a language I had tried to learn by myself before leaving Brazil.
Although still in physical good shape, I am a sixty-year old man, professor of Comparative Literature. Tulasi knew how to keep me safe and took good care of me in the simplest details. After the 12th day of trekking, I was extremely exhausted in Thorung Phedi. I could barely move my feet up to climax of our trekking: Thorung La. Tulasi took all my stuff on his shoulders, and so I could finally reach the top of the mountain.
He is a very talkative and easygoing guy. We talked about everything: our families (he had a daughter of only one month!), religion, politics, cultural shock, etc. He is totally honest, respectful, courteous, patient and very kind, besides being simple and a humble human creature. He returned to me all small coins of change.
In Pokhara, where he lives, he invited me to dinner with him in his humble house. Wow, the chicken was delicious (mitho cha!).
Tulasi speaks very good English, much above the average. He is well educated and has a college degree. It is impressive that he is only a trekking guide in that far remote land

The first trekking we did was a bit disappointing, because my friend got so sick that we had to terminate our trek in an early stage.
But we gave it another go, this time with Tulasi Ram Paudel as our guide. The best decision ever. Tulasi made sure we had a wonderfull experience.
We only did a 8 days trek in the Jomsom area, but we will certainly come back in a few years en take on a longer trail, with Tulasi as our guide if possible.
Tulasi has a great sense of humour, he is energetic, intelligent, he knows a lot about the area and always did the extra mile for us. He's a confident en pleasurable guide to be with.
Almost every evening we had interesting and long talks about Nepal: the daily life, religion, politics. During the day Tulasi took us of the beaten tracks, pointed out interesting sights, took us to monastry's and temples. He deserves to earn a good living and we recommand him to everyone who can appreciate a guide that gives you an insight in the Nepali lifestyle while enjoying Nepal's nature by foot

If mountains are landmark of Nepal, then Tulasi is certainly the icon of the mountains in Nepal.
We got in touch with Tulasi & other guides through this web page. We confidently chose Tulasi because he convinced us with his simple yet detailed & comprehensive reply.
We spent a total of 9 days with him in April 2011. We covered the Panchasse trek, a non-commercialized trek recommended by Tulasi after he understood what we like to see in the trek.
Tulasi is honest, well-mannered, humble, reliable, genuine, street smart, jovial, patient, humorous & speaks fluent in English. Because he is highly responsible & takes his work seriously , makes him a good listener, observant & sensitive to our needs & preferences. He is certainly well trained, physically fit, knowledgeable in his field of expertise including familiarity of the trek routes, first aid, strict with the dos and don't, knows fauna & flora, weather & good understanding of Nepali culture and tribes. He was a good translator between locals & us. Tulasi was also very accommodating & flexible to the changes we made along our way & at the same time, well balance as a prudent trekking guide.
Tulasi is certainly an excellent logistics organizer. Besides organizing our flights to/from Kathmandu/Pokhara, he took us to very unique, lovely, charming & hospitable teahouses. He offers very personalized service. He made good effort in details just to ensure we were comfortable especially in the less equipped teahouses (because it was a non-commercialized trek) eg. he not only boiled water for our hot shower, he carried the buckets of boiled water to distant bathroom even during heavy downpours (no shelter). He even made sure we gone for shower before the water turn cold ! Very often, you find him landing in the kitchen preparing our meals & even cooked for us despite meals were paid for together with accommodation. He personally carried with him, fruits (he could have chose other stuffs which were light weight) during our treks so that we could have them on days we would not reached teahouses for lunch. He always utilized his resources and tapped on his network eg. we were linked-up to enjoy competitive exchange rates.
What touched me most was, during our stay in one of the village teahouse, there was no menu for meals.
Instead of verbally name a few, he delivered us a Tulasi-made-menu So that we could refer when we had to order for one (yes, just ONE) breakfast !! It may seem trivial but one could tell from here, he is a guy who is, not only willing to take extra mile for his guests but he uses his heart to service his guests.
My observation revealed he always have his trekkers' interest as priority & NEVER his. Through some incidents, I also concluded Tulasi is not a calculative person.
Tulasi is certainly no ordinary guide. He only claimed his passion for trekking. But, if you read his eyes, they revealed his love for mountain, his appreciation & admiration to beauty of nature. I was amazed to notice during our trek, how the landscapes still appealed, charmed & attracted him even after his 12 years as a trekking guide.
I will highly recommend Tulasi to anyone who has read this. Unfortunately, i can't narrate every event that happened to testify how outstanding Tulasi was. However, i will like to stress, Tulasi is certainly value for money & he really made me feel he was a sherpherd taking good care of his herds (trekkers).
It was Tulasi that made my first Himalayan experience a unique & memorable one & i do not rule out i'll soon make another trip, perhaps just to meet up with this good trekking companion.
I'll be most willing if you like to write to me with regards to Tulasi. i can be reached at janetwpw@yahoo.com or i'm sure, Tulasi will be most delighted to receive inquiry who plans to visit Nepal or request for customs-make trek that will suit you. His email is at tripnepal46@gmail.com
By the way, Tulasi has two commonly repeated phrase which will make you laugh & forget the aching muscles or fatigue body even after a long, tedious & tiring trek. Will keep you in suspense & find out for yourself when you meet him !
I did a ten day trek in Restricted area of Upper Mustang with Tulasi. Because of being Restricted you need a special permit which was all taken care of by Tulasi, all I had to do was show up. I was feeling a little apprehensive about spending ten days with someone I just met but Tulasi proved to be very professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and has a great sense of humor.
