The trail keeps to the east bank of Kali Gandaki River, climbing and descending. We lunch at Tange village the first village from Kagbeni to meet about 4 hours walk. It is also the Mongolian village where the all villagers are mixture of Gurung, Thakali and some families from the land of Lo. From Tanbe the trail again climbs to a high point around 3100 m. The trail then drops steeply and undulates along the east bank of Kali Gandaki for 1 ½ hours to the village of Chhuksang, from Chhuksang we can see the Chele. Helambu Trekking in Nepal

Helambu trek about  72 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu, is noted for its scenic grandeur and  pleasant climate. The Helambu region, extending from north of Taramarang to the  tree limit of the Gosainkunda Lake and lower slopes of Jugal Himal, has several  highland Tamang and Sherpa villages, scattered on both sides of the Malemchi  Khola. This trek is rated as an easier trek because the elevations are  lower, ranging between 800m. and 3600m., which indicates less climbing and  warmer temperatures. One advantage to this trek is there are fewer trekkers here  than on the Annapurna trek and some parts of the Everest treks, but there is  still a wide range of cultures and spectacular  scenery.

A variety of sights including Buddhist monasteries, a cheese factory, yaks, glaciers and mountain lakes make this trek an exciting one. You will visit Gosainkunda, one of the holiest lake in Nepal, where thousands of pilgrims throng each August to bathe in its cold and spiritually refreshing water. One hour drive brings the trekkers to Sundarijal, the starting point of this trek, where there are sparkling waterfalls flowing down through an oak forest. This trek offers the experience of being in a typical Sherpa village and many ancient monasteries. It is a golden chance to learn about life in our villages. The trek ends at Melamchipul Bazar on the banks of Indravati River. North of Kathmandu valley lies Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. Nestled at the foot of these Himalayan ranges is a beautiful, secluded, valley filled with natures bounty - the Langtang National Park. Here the rare red pandas lurk in dense lichen-draped rhododendron thickets, heards of blue sheep graze the alpine meadows and lammergeiers glide over glaciated valleys amidst a scenery of lofty Himalayan peaks. From Kyanjin Gompa we will have a chance to climb a ridge on Yala Peak, or hike to the foot of Langshisa glacier, for an incredible view of glaciers, icefalls and snow fields surrounded on all sides by high mountains. The Helambu villages, over the holy Gosainkunda lakes and Laurebenayak pass, are the home of the Sherpas of Nepal.. Until recently few trekkers ever attempted it but now foreign trekking companies advertise it along side standard treks. It isn't standard, being tough and demanding and has shocked many trekkers who expected something similar to the Annapurna Circuit or the Everest trek. It is better labelled as an extreme route; extreme, because you need a
rope and should also take ice-axe and crampons. Going without a guide It is very difficulty. With its extended high altitude nature it should only be attempted when snow-free, from late September to December or perhaps May and early June. This means don't go during March or April, these times can be particularly unpredictable and dangerous. This trek begins at the lowlands of Baglung inhabited by the Brahmins and Chhetries. In the trek, come across the Gurung and Magar Tribes. Beginning from Sal and Pristine Pine forest, the trail foes to barren lands from where we embark on mountain experience with the exquisite Dhaulagiri in front of us. We cross the French Pass and then the Dhampus Pass. which offers the breath-taking view of the Dhaulagiri Range, the Annapurna Range, Nilgiri and a look at the deepest gorge in the world, the Kaligandaki gorge.  the trek finish at Marpha then after it takes 3 days way to Ghorepani/Poonhill to come back in Pokhara.

The surroundings are spectacular, which makes up for the rough and dangerous trail. We may also use a rope on this section. This is a particularly tough day. We camp on the glacier rubble.
Day 11 Glacier Camp – Dhaulagiri Base Camp 1 Soon the rough rubble gives way to the smooth ice of the white part of the glacier. We climb steadily to the rough and chilling but spectacular Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
Day 12 Dhaulagiri Base Camp – French Col – Hidden Valley Getting off the glacier above the base camp often requires a rope, but once over the steep moraine walls we are in safer and more gentle country. After a breathless climb to the top of French Col (5300m), the views of Hidden Valley open out. The broad  valley is reminiscent of Tibet and Ladakh and so are the temperatures, at least –20 degrees Celsius at night.
Day 13 Hidden Valley Camp 5000m A rest day to admire the surrounding peaks and perhaps do some exploring.
Day 14 Hidden Valley - Yak Kharka After climbing over the 5200m Dhampus Pass, we traverse avalanche prone slopes and then descend steeply to Yak Kharka.
Day 15 Yak Kharka – Marpha More steep descent leads to Marpha and a well deserved beer over lunch.
Day 16 Marpha – Ghasa We follow the popular Jomsom trail down.
Day 17 Ghasa – Tatopani
Day 18 Tatopani- Ghorepani 2800m
Day 19 Ghorepani- Poonhill (sunrise, view of
Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range) trek to Uleri- Nayapul by car to Pokhara

Dhorpatan Trekking in Nepal

A pleasant trek through mixed country and views of impressive mountains, the trail takes you to the spacious Dhorpatan valley. The major ethnic groups of this region are Thakali, Tibetan, Chettri ,Brahmin and Magar. Amalgamation of different ethnic group has resulted in a mixed pattern of cultures in this region. Nauthar is an indigenous minority community of this region. Uttar Ganga Bhanjyang festival which falls in the full-moon, during the month of Bhadra (Aug-Sept) is celebrated with great pomp and show every year. 7000 goats are sacrificed by the locals during this festival. Dense forests of fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and rhododendron mark this trail. The forest is home to endangered animals like leopard, goral, serow, himalayan thar, black bear and barking deer. While crossing the Jaljala we get magnificent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurnas. A highlight of the trip is the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Covering an area of 1,325 sq. km., the reserve is situated on the southern flanks of Mt. Dhaulangiri I (8,167 m.) in districts of Rukum, Baglung and Myagdi in western Nepal. Over here controlled hunting of some species is allowed.
In Rukum, you get to experience the Jorshey culture. Traditional dancers perform the Danphe & Peacock dance, which shows a danphe (impeyan pheasant) trapping a peacock with its sweet song.
You get to visit traditional villages at Darbang, Takam , Genthung, and explore Syarpu and Gurjaghat lakes.
