Trekking in Nepal

Tulasi Ram Paudel – Aanbevolen trekkinggids in Nepal

Aanbeveling:

further recomendations:

In april 2009 we made our first trip to Nepal, but it will certainly not be our last !!
The first trekking we did was a bit disappointing, because my friend got so sick that we had to terminate our trek in an early stage.
But we gave it another go, this time with Tulasi Ram Paudel as our guide. The best decision ever. Tulasi made sure we had a wonderfull experience.
We only did a 8 days trek in the Jomsom area, but we will certainly come back in a few years en take on a longer trail, with Tulasi as our guide if possible.
Tulasi has a great sense of humour, he is energetic, intelligent, he knows a lot about the area and always did the extra mile for us. He's a confident en pleasurable guide to be with.
Almost every evening we had interesting and long talks about Nepal: the daily life, religion, politics. During the day Tulasi took us of the beaten tracks, pointed out interesting sights, took us to monastry's and temples. He deserves to earn a good living and we recommand him to everyone who can appreciate a guide that gives you an insight in the Nepali lifestyle while enjoying Nepal's nature by foot
With best regards,  Audrey Claes and Gijs van Steenis, The Netherlands

Duration of day :12-21days
Duration a day walking:3-8 hours

World Highest Place Lake-- Tilicho Lake 5200 meters collects the glacial melt of the entire northern slopes of Annapurna and Thorong Peak it is claimed to be the highest lake in the world. In 2001, Hindu pilgrims from around the world flocked to the lake convinced it is a holy spot mentioned in the Ramayan – a holy book of the Hindus.
This trek starts right from Besisahar which goes along the Marshyangdi River, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. This magnificent trek leads you to the fine village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups, offering spectacular and majestic views of the white Himalayas.  We have customized this route as it is basically the same as Annapurna Circuit, from Manang instead of
taking the valley north to Tanki Manang and Yak Kharka this route goes to the main valley to the west passes through the Khanshar Village (The Last Village of Nepal) and trek up to Tilicho lake, then we travel to Yak Kharka then up to pass of Thorung La at elevation of 5416 meters. From the pass of Thorung La the treks lead down to Muktinath then to Jomsom from where thirty five minutes scenic flights take you to the Pokhara. From Tilicho Lake you also have the option of crossing the challenging pass of Moesokanta La Pass to Jomsom instead of traveling to Thorung La pass but good additional equipments with tented camp are require to go through this pass.

The former is the old path, and is much more difficult as it goes on really steep screed; the latter is the new path that goes a completely different way. Continue along the new path, reach a high crest, and descend on switch backs carved out through the screed slopes to a side valley of the main valley. At its bottom is a brook. However, the problem may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problems to cross the pass if it is covered by snow but it is all depending on the weather condition. Royal Trekking in Nepal

Royal trekking in nepal - offers you splendid mountain views- Annapurna south, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Fish tail & Annapurna II III IV. So one more extra day can be spent as best photographically over day. An easy hiking trip just around the Pokhara valley. Recommended as the winter trip and the trip for family or with children. Since the trip is not going that height.
Made famous when Prince Charles of Britain before marriage trekked the same route in 1981, the route has been aptly named the ‘Royal Trek’. Traveling through the villages set among the cultivated fields and meeting the people is quite unforgettable experience.
This four days trek commences from Pokhara, the valley of lakes offering panoramic views of the Annapurna massif as also of the Manaslu Himal. This route was first trekked by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1980 and hence is known as the ‘Royal Trek’. This is the best trek for those who want to experience village life and striking mountain views in a relatively short period of time.

Dhaulagiri trekking in Nepal, is one of most adventure trek in Nepal. This trek has high altitude pass like -French pass(5365m),Thapa pass(5244m),Dhampus pass(4915m)Trekking around Dhaulagiri is an exceptional trek the passes through staggering alpine terrain. Until recently few trekkers ever attempted it but now foreign trekking companies advertise it along side standard treks. It isn't standard, being tough and demanding and has shocked many trekkers who expected something similar to the Annapurna Circuit or the Everest trek. It is better labelled as an extreme route; extreme, because you need a
rope and should also take ice-axe and crampons. Going without a guide It is very difficulty. With its extended high altitude nature it should only be attempted when snow-free, from late September to December or perhaps May and early June. This means don't go during March or April, these times can be particularly unpredictable and dangerous. This trek begins at the lowlands of Baglung inhabited by the Brahmins and Chhetries. In the trek, come across the Gurung and Magar Tribes. Beginning from Sal and Pristine Pine forest, the trail foes to barren lands from where we embark on mountain experience with the exquisite Dhaulagiri in front of us. We cross the French Pass and then the Dhampus Pass. which offers the breath-taking view of the Dhaulagiri Range, the Annapurna Range, Nilgiri and a look at the deepest gorge in the world, the Kaligandaki gorge.  the trek finish at Marpha then after it takes 3 days way to Ghorepani/Poonhill to come back in Pokhara.

Dhorpatan trekking in Nepal

A pleasant trek through mixed country and views of impressive mountains, the trail takes you to the spacious Dhorpatan valley. The major ethnic groups of this region are Thakali, Tibetan, Chettri ,Brahmin and Magar. Amalgamation of different ethnic group has resulted in a mixed pattern of cultures in this region. Nauthar is an indigenous minority community of this region. Uttar Ganga Bhanjyang festival which falls in the full-moon, during the month of Bhadra (Aug-Sept) is celebrated with great pomp and show every year. 7000 goats are sacrificed by the locals during this festival. Dense forests of fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and rhododendron mark this trail. The forest is home to endangered animals like leopard, goral, serow, himalayan thar, black bear and barking deer. While crossing the Jaljala we get magnificent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurnas. A highlight of the trip is the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Covering an area of 1,325 sq. km., the reserve is situated on the southern flanks of Mt. Dhaulangiri I (8,167 m.) in districts of Rukum, Baglung and Myagdi in western Nepal. Over here controlled hunting of some species is allowed.
